To push for greater gender equality through girl child empowerment among the marginalized tribal communities of Jharkhand, LEADS is gearing up to launch Project AKSHARA. Over a span of 3 months, 500 tribal girls and their families were interviewed by our volunteers in 2019. After numerous discussions, 100 tribal girls have been shortlisted and soon will be joining our LEADS family. They will be receiving free education and vocational training at SIS, Ranchi.

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the project was pushed by six months. Now that the country has finally opened and the situation seems to be improving, we intend on launching Project AKSHARA on 31st Oct. 2020.
